The Shevchenkiv District Court of Kyiv, during its session on December 5, rejected the petition for release from pre-trial detention center of the detective of the closed unit of NABU “D-2” Victor Husarov. He is suspected of treason.
This was reported by Suspilne and the Anti-Corruption Center.
Viktor Husarov is suspected of transferring data from the closed database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine ARMOR (the information and search system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine) from 2012 to 2015 to Dmytro Ivantsov, the bodyguard of the fugitive former president Viktor Yanukovych. The investigation claims that Husarov knew about Ivantsov’s escape to the temporarily occupied Crimea in 2014, but still gave him the data.
Husarov’s lawyer Olena Storozhuk claimed that he admits to sending the data, but the purpose was to check people “for his work”. According to her, Husarov did not know that Ivantsov fled to Crimea in 2014, because he considered him “an active employee of the UDO.”
Prosecutor Ruslan Izhuk insisted that the suspicion was well-founded and asked to keep Husarov in custody, as the investigation is “checking information about the network of Russian agents in which Husarov may be involved.” After hearing the parties, the investigating judge left the detective in custody.
The defense believes that Husarov’s arrest was carried out under a fictitious pretext to put pressure on NABU.
NABU declared that it would contribute investigation affairs of his employee Viktor Gusarov, I suspect the one in espionage. However c there are not can be leading to the destruction of the anti-corruption infrastructure.
We will remind, in the media and social networks became active campaign to discredit the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
