The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court refused to remove Alexei Chernyshov from the post of Viceremier-Minister-Minister of National Unity, despite suspicion of a large-scale corruption. This is the first case in the history of Ukraine, when the suspect in such a crime, the official remains in office after the corresponding petition of law enforcement.
According to the investigation, Chernyshov, together with other officials, organized a scheme for transferring state land to the developer at a reduced price. The cost of the plot and buildings on it was deliberately reduced by almost five, which could lose more than UAH 1 billion in the form of real estate.
According to NABU, with the assistance in the scheme, the minister received a “discount” for apartments in the amount of more than UAH 14.5 million – the price of a square meter was from 1 to 8 thousand hryvnias at a market value of about 30 thousand.
We will remind, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court began consideration of the petition of anti-corruption bodies to remove Alexei Chernyshov from the position of Viceremier-Minister-Minister of National Unity for the period of investigation on resonant land.
