The Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv extended the preventive measure to Roman Hrynkevich, suspected of supplying low-quality clothing for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to detention until December 19 with the possibility of bail in the amount of 69.6 million hryvnias.
The court reduced the amount of bail – earlier, in August, it was 112 million hryvnias. During the meeting, the prosecutor stated that the risks of the suspect’s escape remain, because Hrynkevich owns real estate in Prague. He also recalled that in January 2024, the suspect was declared wanted, after which he was detained.
The defense insisted that the risks were exaggerated and asked the court to reduce the preventive measure. Earlier, lawyer Andriy Gujal reported that Hrynkevich’s family is unable to pay the required amount of bail.
The next review of the preventive measure will take place in December.
We will remind that in January 2024, after the searches, the suspect Roman Hrynkevich moved to an illegal position and, in accordance with the conspiracy, left Kyiv – first to the suburbs, then to Odesa.
January 22, 2024, Roman Hrynkevich caught in Odessa, where he was hiding from the investigation.
Roman Hrynkevich’s father, businessman Ihor Hrynkevich, was also arrested earlier. It preceded him detention in December 2023 for an attempt to bribe one of the heads of the Main Investigative Department of the SBI.
