On May 16, the Kryzhopil District Court of Vinnytsia Region decided to close the proceedings in the case of Marina Poroshenko’s claim against Petro Poroshenko on the division of property.
According to “Public Vinnytsia”, the lack of a dispute was the basis.
The court’s decision states that repeated appeals about the same case between the same parties on the same grounds are not allowed. At the same time, the lawyer of Petro Poroshenko Ilya Novikov stated that this decision could be appealed, and stressed – in his opinion, the subject of the dispute still exists.
During the meeting, a letter from the Ministry of Justice with information about sanctions was attached to the case file. Novikov stressed that the document is not a formal objection, but may indicate certain restrictions.
Marina Poroshenko’s lawyer, Kristina Misenko, insisted that her client has the right to part of the common property because it is not under sanctions. According to her, it was because of this that a lawsuit was filed.
The defendant’s party proposed to make a decision at the preparatory meeting, recognizing the claim. However, the court concluded that there was no dispute and closed the proceedings.
Novikov stated that the case has a political implication related to the sanctions imposed on Petro Poroshenko by the decree of President Vladimir Zelensky. According to him, Maryna Poroshenko went to court because it is unable to fully use her share of property.
“It’s not a final point. We have a plan B, if not work – there will be a plan C. We will continue the protection, ”the lawyer added.
