The higher anti-corruption court sentenced the former head of the state enterprise “Center for Certification and Examination of Seeds and Planting Material” and the director of private companies, who are accused of causing losses to the state of 13.4 million hryvnias.

The court found the ex-director of the state-owned enterprise guilty of abuse of official position committed by a group of persons based on a prior conspiracy. He received 4 years of imprisonment, as well as a ban on holding positions in government bodies and state and communal structures for 3 years. Additionally, a fine of UAH 13,600 was imposed.
Directors of two private companies were found guilty of aiding and abetting. He was sentenced to 3 years and 10 months in prison with a ban on holding managerial positions in business for 2 years and 10 months and a fine of UAH 12,750.
The court also satisfied the civil claim and decided to recover 13,407,841 hryvnias in damages from both defendants jointly.
The verdict can be appealed within 30 days through the VAX to the Appeals Chamber.
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption announced that the official investigation into the possible involvement of employees in the “Midas” case will last until January 10, 2026.
