The EADS Program should be distributed to destroyed housing located in temporarily occupied territories.
About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to the commentary of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Local Self-Government Elena Shuliak.
She recalled that the program is now one of the largest successfully implemented state -owned citizens’ support programs. Thus, in two years of work, almost 100 thousand families received assistance, and the total amount of compensation is UAH 25 billion.
Shuliak emphasized that the priority category of recipients of compensation is now internally displaced persons who have lost their home. However, this category needs to be expanded as many citizens have lost their homes in temporary occupied territories.
“We have been waiting for this component for the government for almost a year. Moreover, thousands of Ukrainian families who have not only lost their housing as a result of Russian aggression are expected for this decision, but were forced to flee from occupation power to Ukraine -controlled territory. These people also have the right to support the state. We already have an option to rebuild the house on our own land, but we do not allow people to buy housing instead of destroyed. That is why it will be a completely logical and necessary step, ”Shulyak emphasized.
Earlier, we wrote that the Ministry of Community Development and Territories of Ukraine received the first UAH 4.3 billion to pay for housing certificates for IDPs. During the week of the program, 50 families have already implemented certificates and purchased new homes.
The World Bank will provide Ukraine with $ 84 million within the Hope project. The CTIs will be aimed at paying compensation under the Equilibrium program.
