The Verkhovna Rada approved in the first reading of the Bill No. 13235, which grants the right to education for military personnel aged 18 to 25 years, which are served under contract or mobilization. 253 deputies voted in favor of the project.

The bill stipulates that the military of this age category will be able to study in universities and colleges without interruption from service. They guarantee the preservation of the place of study and the payment of scholarship during service.
The right to leave and study in higher and professional higher education institutions is also provided.
In order to implement these norms, it is proposed to amend several laws of Ukraine, in particular “On Military Duty and Military Service”, “On Social and Legal Protection of Servicemen and their Families”, “On Higher Education”, “On Education” and “On Professional Education”.
