The Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis a law, which guarantees contract servicemen to receive education without interruption from service.
This was reported by MP Alexei Goncharenko (European Solidarity faction) in the telegram.
“The Council supported in the first reading the bill No. 13235, which guarantees the right to education for servicemen (18-25 years), which serve under contract or mobilization,” Goncharenko wrote.
At the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada, the bill was supported by 253 people’s deputy.
According to the document, the military will be able to study in universities without interruption from the service, as the bill proposes to guarantee such persons the preservation of the place of study and scholarships and leave for the duration of the session.
“These rights will also work for professional higher education (colleges, technical schools, etc.),” Goncharenko explained.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada registered a bill, which provides for the opportunity for citizens of 60+ years to voluntarily sign contracts with the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The document was proposed by the Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Roman Kostenko.
