Now the privileged mortgage of the “Eosel” is received by the military under 3%, and veterans – already 7%. They need to be at least equalized and reduce the amount of the first dwelling for housing.
According to RBC-Ukraine, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the Organization of State Authorities, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning, the head of the party “Servant of the People” Olena Shuliak stated this.
She stated that such a disproportion between military and veterans led to the fact that at the beginning of March 2025 the number of veterans who received a privileged mortgage was at least 20 times lower than the number of such military.
Thus, as of the beginning of March, 344 loans under the Esosel program were issued to Ukrainian veterans, while at the same time, military personnel and security officers have 8498 loans. The government should correct such a disproportion as soon as it will contribute to the quality social reintegration of our defenders.
Shuliak also stressed that in addition to reducing the interest rate for veterans, they should be made lower and the first contribution for the housing purchased under the Eosel Program. It is currently 15%, but for most of them it is an unbearable amount.
Meanwhile, new services for veterans and families of fallen defenders have appeared on the portal and in the action. In online mode, they will be able to get a person with a disability as a result of war and the status of a family member of the dead military.
In 2025, 19 veterans and members of their families became the winners of the first wave in the program “Own business”. They will receive grants of 10 million to start or develop their business.
