The Verkhovna Rada allowed the recruiting centers of the Armed Forces to work with the “Oberig” register. This should speed up the recruitment of people for the contract service and make it more targeted and digital. 282 people’s deputies voted for the corresponding legislative initiative No. 14238.
From now on, the recruiting centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will join the work with the register. This decision, according to the intention of the authors of the law, should make the process of recruiting for military service under a contract faster and more accurate, as well as reduce the burden on territorial recruiting centers.
Thanks to access to “Obereg”, recruiting centers will be able to work with the database of conscripts, conscripts and reservists and select candidates in accordance with the real needs of the units. The author of the draft law, People’s Deputy Oleksandr Fedienko explained that it is about the transition to a modern model of equipping the army with the use of digital tools.
“Giving recruiting centers access to the Unified State Register will significantly increase the efficiency of recruiting for military service under a contract, ensure quick and targeted selection of candidates in accordance with the needs of the army,” he said.
According to the deputy, the new approach will also help to avoid duplication of functions between the TCC and recruiting structures and at the same time preserve the requirements of the law on the protection of personal data.
The Council emphasizes that the adoption of the law is a response to the needs of the army in wartime conditions and is part of a broader course of modernization of the defense system.
