This was explained by the Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Roman Kostenko in a comment for TSN.ua.
“The primary question of what we have to do. It is not to lose our strategic partner – the United States. In order for them to be able to supply us even if not on logistics, but at least at the expense, ”Kostenko says.
The main thing is that our partners do not stop selling it. But Ukraine will not have enough money to replace all that give us partners with their funds. An important point – if even the US is refused, it can be done with the help of Europe and other countries that will provide us with financial assistance.
Kostenko emphasizes that the US has a number of critical nomenclature, which is difficult to find in other countries.
“Therefore, when there is a question of what we can replace the help from the US, we can say that they have a number of critical nomenclature, which will be very difficult to replace. But this is not catastrophic. Everything you can replace is possible in Europe. We can give us either their weapons or weapons, which we can buy, in particular, in the United States, ”the representative of the Parliamentary Committee notes.
Will the ammunition be enough for air defense? According to Kostenko, this issue needs additional clarification.
“This is a question that needs to be explained. As of now, we have a stock. But it all depends on the intensity with which the Russians will strike on us. Let’s just say: if the intensity does not increase, and it will be as it is now, then we can beat. I will say: Patriot is a good system, but it does not knock down 100% ballistic missiles. But Russia can, for example, start more by exhausting our air defense. Therefore, it will be more problematic. In addition to Patriot, we have other air defense, European and Soviet, which allow to contain Russian attacks, ”the Secretary of the Defense Committee sums up.
Before that, Financial Times wrote that due to the future shortage of retrievance missiles for five Patriot systems, Ukraine will have to choose what to protect: aerodromes, power plants or military factories.
We will remind, Trump ordered to suspend all military assistance to Ukraine. It was, in particular, about weapons, which is on the road to our country, but has not yet come. The President of the USA gave the relevant instruction to the Pentagon.
In the CNN comment, the White House representative confirmed that the states stopped the assistance. He stressed that the United States needed partners to be committed to peace, like Trump.
US Vice president, Ji Di V, has confident that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will “eventually” agree to discuss peace with Russia. He noted that during a meeting with Trump, the Ukrainian leader demonstrated “disrespect”.
