The system of penalties for non -compliance with the established quality standards creates significant obstacles for the development of internal production, especially in war conditions.
This was stated by MP Victoria Grib.
According to her, Ukrainian gas companies face excessive financial sanctions if the quality of gas produced is even slightly different from the approved standards.
“Do we know that today, if our gas companies provide quality a little lower than it is stated in the standards, they pay very large penalties and fines – and it limits them,” the deputy emphasized.
The mushroom noted that this practice is a brake for increasing internal production, which in turn weakens the country’s energy independence. She stressed the need to revise the current requirements and introduce a more flexible approach:
“These restrictions and penalties and penalties today are really such a braid in that the market is now developing.”
In her opinion, the current penalty model scares investors and new market participants:
“And if gas companies today just pay a fine and penalty – no one goes to the market.”
The mushroom has called for an open discussion on temporary softening of gas quality standards to maintain internal emergency production.
Earlier, we wrote that during the war in Ukraine there is a moratorium on rising gas prices for the population. The state company complies with its conditions.
Also we will remind that through Russian blows in February, Ukrgasvydobuvannya from Naftogaz lost 50% of gas production. But more than half of the losses have already been restored.
