The Council adopted Law No. 13168, which guarantees the payment of UAH 15 million to the families of servicemen who died in captivity, regardless of the cause of death.
It is noted that earlier such assistance was paid only for death as a result of injuries, injuries or injuries, while death in captivity, even in wartime, was offset by a much smaller amount.
“This law corrects injustice and recognizes that captivity is not a break in the service, but its continuation, even if the fighter is behind the lattice of a hostile prison,” the statement said.
The Council stressed that payments apply to cases that occurred before law NABUwhere validity.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada approved amendments to the law, which guarantee servicemen the right to receive monetary compensation for all unused days of annual basic and additional leave in the event of dismissal from service during martial law.
