The Council has approved the ARMA reform law that is an EU requirement

The Verkhovna Rada approved as a whole, the bill No. 12374-d on the reform of the National Agency of Ukraine for the detection, search and management of assets obtained from corruption and other crimes (ARMA). The Verkhovna Rada approved as a whole, the bill No. 12374-d on the reform of the National Agency of Ukraine for the detection, search and management of assets obtained from corruption and other crimes (ARMA). It was an EU requirement.

The deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported about it.

253 MPs voted in favor of the corresponding bill.

The new law provides for new requirements for ARMA chairman, selection procedure with the participation of international experts, a transparent asset management mechanism and asset transfer.

The adoption of this bill was one of the conditions for unblocking Ukraine’s financial aid from the EU in the amount of UAH 600 million.

Recall that, within the plan of Ukraine Facility, Ukraine has undertaken to approve the ARMA reform law and strengthen its institutional capacity.

Recall that the European Solodarity faction in the Verkhovna Rada sent an appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers, which requires the release of the National Agency for Detecting, Investigation and Management of Assets obtained from corruption and other crimes (ARMA) by the Elena Duma.

ANDTransparency International Ukraine called The Cabinet of Ministers not to approve Elena Duma as the Chairman of the National Agency for Detecting, Investigation and Management of Assets received from corruption and other crimes (ARMA).
