Only ceasefire at the front is not enough to abolish martial law. The prerequisites for a strong, sustainable peace are needed.
This was stated by People’s Deputy Fedor Venislavsky on the air of Radio Liberty.
According to him, the mere fact of temporary ceasefire does not accurately eliminate the threats that caused the introduction of the legal regime of martial law.
“This does not mean that Russia has removed its troops from temporarily occupied territories or its means of destruction, which can strike in Ukraine. Given Putin’s mental state, I think we can expect any event. Therefore, without the guarantee that it will result in a long -term peace, I do not think that the martial law can be abolished, ”Venislavsky said.
According to him, the terms of possible abolition of martial law depend on a number of circumstances, including the withdrawal of Russian troops, security guarantees and the results of international negotiations.
We will remind, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed laws on the continuation of martial law and general mobilization until May 9, 2025.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine will not participate in future negotiations of Russian and US sides in Saudi Arabia.
High -ranking officials from the US and the Russian Federation will meet next week in Saudi Arabia to prepare the summit Donald Trump and Putin there by the end of the month.
