The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted draft law No. 13532, which introduces new one-time payments at the birth of a child in the amount of 50,000 hryvnias.
For the appropriate Law No. 13532 on November 5, the Verkhovna Rada voted with 294 “yes” votes.
The payments will come into effect on January 1, 2026 and are aimed at increasing the birth rate and supporting families in the prenatal and postnatal periods. The amount of this assistance will be revised annually during the adoption of the state budget.
In addition to the basic payment, the law provides support for families with children under the age of three through the “eYasla” program in the amount of 8,000 hryvnias, and for first-graders – a “student’s package” in the amount of 5,000 hryvnias. These innovations are aimed at reducing the financial burden on families with children, especially in difficult times.
Currently, it will be possible to apply for a one-time allowance for the birth of a child regardless of the presence of other children in the family. Funds for winter payments in the amount of 1,000 hryvnias have already been laid down in the budget, which shows the government’s constant attention to social protection of the population.
