The Council adopted a law on fines for officials for failure to see a meeting

The Verkhovna Rada approved in general Law No. 11387 on the introduction of administrative liability for failure to appear for the call of parliament without valid reasons. The Verkhovna Rada approved in general Law No. 11387 on the introduction of administrative liability for failure to appear for the call of parliament without valid reasons. The legislative initiative was supported by 229 people’s deputies.

The new law aims to strengthen discipline both in lawsuits and during parliamentary procedures.

The document is provided:

  • Administrative responsibility for failure to comply with the court order. Now they can be fined, and the relevant protocols will be drawn up by court employees

  • Responsibility for ignoring the requirements of parliamentary committees, temporary investigative commissions or not appearing for government officials for plenary session

  • A simplified procedure for considering the issue of dismissal of an official who was not appeared at a meeting of the Council without good reason

  • Clarification of the powers of temporary investigative commissions and granting the National Police the right to perform an excuse under the procedural decision of Parliament

Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code will help to strengthen the liability of prosecutors for failure to appear in court and increase the amount of monetary penalties for violation of procedural duties, the authors of the bill said.

It is expected that the adoption of the law will help to accelerate criminal cases and strengthen respect for court and parliament.

Earlier to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine came bill on administrative responsibility for violation of martial law, including curfew.

In the Verkhovna Rada registered The bill “13634-1”, which specifies the right to defer from conscription for students and pedagogical staff.
