The construction of the waste processing plant in Lviv has stopped due to the crisis situation related to the agreement with the Polish contractor, Control Process SA.
Deputy of the city council Nazar Berbeka, who heads the temporary control commission on the activities of this enterprise, said that the agreement can be considered terminated.
On the website of the utility company Green City, it is stated that Control Process did not extend the bank guarantee in the amount of 3.6 million euros for the performance of the contract. If the contract is cancelled, this amount must go to the budget of Lviv as compensation. Such a violation jeopardizes the further construction of the plant with the current contractor.
The deputy commission issued an order to the first deputy mayor of Lviv, Andriy Moskalenko, to prepare a plan for getting out of this crisis situation and to inform about the possible consequences for the cost of works and the terms of project implementation. As of July 2024, the construction of the plant is 65% complete.
