The course of basic combined military training for the mobilized includes four main stages of training.

This was announced by the head of the training department of the training centers of the command of the Ground Forces Yuriy Dyachenko during a press conference in Ukrinform on the topic: “Basic military training”.

“The structure of the course envisages four main stages of training. At the first stage, safety measures for the handling of weapons are demonstrated, the legal basis of military service and the duties of a military serviceman are studied. During the course of individual training, the main subjects of study are studied, skills are acquired from related subjects of study, in-depth knowledge of military military history is provided, and a conscious attitude to the protection of the territorial integrity of Ukraine is formed,” Dyachenko said.

According to him, at the third stage, the recruit undergoes a course of studying actions as part of the unit. It is about improving practical skills and abilities, developing endurance, assessing the ability of servicemen to overcome difficulties, great physical and psychological stress associated with the performance of tasks in field conditions, as close as possible to combat.

After that, at the fourth stage, a complex tactical task is carried out for three days, the so-called “field exit”, during which the level of training and the ability of a serviceman to act independently on the battlefield without the intervention of an instructor is determined.

Informing about the changes in the training, Dyachenko noted that previously the training of a serviceman was carried out for 10 hours a day, but now it has been reduced to eight hours. At the same time, two more hours are provided for independent preparation.

Dyachenko also said that the training program includes the subject “Special training”, where at the user level, means of countering the enemy’s unmanned aircraft systems are studied. The training included the “Nettle” software, methodical recommendations for providing medical aid were defined, and the study of collective weapons (machine guns of various modifications – ed.) and firing from them was introduced.

According to the new program of the BZVP, new subjects were introduced, the number of exercises and shootings increased.

“I also want to emphasize the increase in the practical component of fire training. According to the updated program, 10 professional shootings were additionally introduced. There were 29 of them before, now – 39. The amount of ammunition for the machine gun has been increased – from 551 rounds to 866 rounds,” Dyachenko informed.

According to him, great attention is paid to pre-medical training. Yes, the duration of the course is 16 hours, of which 4 hours are theory, 12 hours are practical classes.

During training, recruits learn to use tourniquets, bandages, restore breathing, quickly respond to injuries in combat conditions, and also acquire skills in evacuation and transportation of victims.

Each serviceman during training is provided with an individual first-aid kit, a complete set of medical equipment for conducting training exercises. The use of the first-aid kit allows you to practice skills as closely as possible to combat conditions, the representative of the command of the Ground Forces emphasized.

As the participants of the event said, the practical classes take place in the format of scenario training that simulates real combat situations. Emphasis is placed on the speed and accuracy of assistance in stressful situations.

During the exercises, much attention is paid to psychological preparation, which includes: overcoming the obstacle course, the fear of heavy armored vehicles; strengthening the psyche in conditions of constant fire exposure and shock UAVs; creation of a situation as complex as possible and close to the conditions of combat for military personnel to acquire the skills to control their own psychological reactions. In addition, military personnel are taught to provide psychological assistance and self-help.

Dyachenko also emphasized that the adaptation and further training of military personnel to conduct combat operations is carried out directly in military units after their training in training centers with the aim of increasing combat stability, coordinating trained specialists in small groups (departments) to conduct tactical operations.

We will remind you that from November 1, Ukraine increased the period of basic combined military training to 1.5 months instead of 30 days. All training centers of all components of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already switched to the new program.

The French military operational group “Champagne” is completing the mission of training a new brigade named after Anna of Kyiv from several thousand Ukrainian soldiers.
