Russian troops continue to clear Velika Novosilka of the Donetsk region and are fixed in its center, the DeepState project reported on Friday, January 24.
It is noted that the Russians began to publish footage from the settlement, manipulating information about alleged complete control over the village, which is not true.
“The enemy is successful in advancing on the eastern outskirts, and has also occupied a small part of the central streets of the settlement, where they shot their videos with rags,” project analysts report.
At the same time, the Russians are trying to advance from the south and from the side of Vremivka, actively using infantry and equipment.
“At the same time, the situation around the village is difficult and it can be stated that the battle for Velika Novosilka is coming to an end,” DeepState noted.
On January 24, Viktor Tregubov, the spokesman for the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of troops, said that the situation near the village of Velyka Novosilka in the Novopavlovsk direction in the Donetsk region is difficult, as the Russian invaders are trying to surround it.
According to him, the Defense Forces have plans to prevent the encirclement of the village, therefore, in order to keep the situation under control, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi arrived in the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Armed Forces.
On January 22, the 110th OMBr stated that near Velika Novosilka of the Donetsk region, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are experiencing an acute shortage of personnel in rifle units, despite the presence of a sufficient number of artillery and drones.
On January 19, the Khortytsia Police Department reported that Russian troops, using difficult weather conditions, tried to block Velika Novosilka in the direction of Novopavlivsk. To support the offensive, the Russian army used armored vehicles.
