The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has signed a strategic contract with the ICEYE company, a world leader in the field of SAR-satellites (Synthesized Aperture Radar), which will provide the Ukrainian military with access to high-precision space images for monitoring the territory of hostilities.

Thanks to this contract, the command will be able to determine priority observation areas and quickly receive up-to-date data, which will significantly increase the army’s situational awareness and combat capability.

As Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov noted, the agreement was made possible thanks to the support of the German government and the participation of the German concern Rheinmetall, which was a party to the contract. Umerov emphasized that the implementation of advanced space intelligence technologies is an important step to ensure technological superiority and protection of the Ukrainian military.

Earlier, we wrote that at one of the training grounds, the manufacturers presented unique Ukrainian UAVs for reconnaissance and correction, which are the first analogs of the Chinese Mavic drone, the most common on the front.

We would also like to remind you that by the end of 2024, the Defense Forces will receive Ukrainian-made long-range drones, ATGM systems, missiles and artillery installations. This is stipulated in the agreements with Denmark on the support of the Ukrainian defense industry for 4.2 billion Danish crowns (629 million dollars).
