Former Justice Minister Olga Stephanyshyn was appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States. This is the first time when the ambassador is in two criminal cases and one of them has the status of a suspect.
In particular, it is a question initiated by the results of a journalistic investigation into the activities of ARMA and possible relationships of the Stephanishina family with assets.
It was about transfer to the management through ARMA of such objects as the Trade Union House in the center of Kiev, a number of other assets that, according to journalists, is associated with her former husband.
On June 11, 2025, the SAP initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – abuse of power or office with grave consequences. The investigation conducts NABU. Suspicion of Stephanishin have not reported .
She denies any connection with the business of the ex-husband, emphasizing that they divorced in 2017 and only communicate with children.
In addition, Stephanishin is accused of illegally seizing or spending state funds (over UAH 2.5 million) allocated for research on the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU standards.
Investigation, in the period between 2013 and 2014, the Ministry of Justice ordered a study to adapt legislation to EU standards.
