Archbishop Isaakii Vorzelskyi (Fyodor Andronyk), who heads the men’s monastery “Svyato-Pokrovska Holosiivska Hermitage” of the UOC MP, allegedly left for Moldova amid the scandal surrounding the underground school on the territory of the religious institution.

According to the sources of the “Slidstvo.Info” publication in law enforcement agencies, the priest crossed the state border late in the evening on January 7, 2026 through the checkpoint “Mohyliv-Podilskyi – Otach”. To leave, he used a Toyota car, which was usually seen in his use in the capital.

The abbot’s hasty departure took place the next day after the publication of materials about the activities of an unlicensed educational institution operating within the walls of the Kyiv monastery. Journalists tried to get a comment from the archbishop for five days, but he ignored all calls and messages. So far, it has been confirmed that the hierarch has been outside the country for almost a week, which may indicate an intention to avoid communication with law enforcement officers regarding the detected violations in the activities of the educational facility.

The situation with the underground school in the Holosiivsk desert became another episode in a series of investigations into the influence of the Russian Federation on religious institutions in Ukraine. Russian propaganda often uses such institutions to spread its narratives among the youth, which poses a threat to national security. The flight of a high-ranking clergyman to Moldova only strengthens suspicions about the illegal nature of the school’s activities and possible connections of the monastery’s leadership with the structures of the aggressor country, which are trying to maintain their influence through the UOC MP network.

The Security Service of Ukraine has already started a detailed verification of the facts of illegal activities on the territory of the monastery after the evidence was made public by journalists. Investigators are studying educational materials and identifying the teachers who implemented the educational standards of the aggressor country. Unlike the official educational institutions of Ukraine, which work according to state standards, such underground structures are often used by the Russian Federation for soft influence and formation of a generation loyal to the occupiers inside the country.

Deputy Prime Minister-Minister for Humanitarian Policy Tetyana Berezhna stated that it is necessary to wait for the official results of the investigation by the Security Service of Ukraine regarding the underground educational institution exposed by journalists on the territory of the UOC MP monastery in Holosiivskyi district.
