Teachers will retain an allowance of 2 thousand hryvnias, raising the salary in 2026 until planned

Teachers will receive a work allowance in difficult conditions in the amount of 2 thousand hryvnias and in 2026, but the increase in the basic salary is not currently provided. Teachers will receive a work allowance in difficult conditions in the amount of 2 thousand hryvnias and in 2026, but the increase in the basic salary is not currently provided.

This was reported by Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovy during an hour of questions to the government.

He noted that the budget for the next year has no sufficient funds for the implementation of Article 61 of the Law on Education, which provides for the establishment of a salary of teachers of the lowest qualification category in the amount of three minimum wages.

Forest added that the allowance of 2 thousand hryvnias in the budget of 2026 is provided, and the ministry together with the Ministry of Finance processes the possibility of a significant increase in wages. The final decision will depend on the financial capabilities and needs of defense.

The following year, pensions will be postponed in Ukraine and the salaries will be raised. The recalculations will take place in January and September.

The government has forecasts the growth of the average salary of teachers in the next three years.
