In 2025, law enforcement agencies handed suspicions to seven current People’s Deputies of Ukraine. These are cases related to corruption, false declaration, illegal transportation of people abroad and high treason. In addition, the courts passed the first verdicts against people’s elected officials. This is stated in the final analytical report review “Chesno” movement.
Among them are deputies from the “Servant of the People” party, Iryna Kormyshkina and Yulia Didenko. NABU accuses them of unreliable declaration. Another representative of the same faction, Oleksiy Kuznetsov, became a suspect in the case of possible bribery.
A separate high-profile case was opened this year against non-factional People’s Deputy Viktor Bondary. He is suspected of corruption schemes related to purchases for Ukrzaliznytsia. The law enforcement officers believe that it is about abuses that have caused significant losses to the state.
Deputy from “Batkivshchyna” Kostyantyn Bondarev also came under investigation. According to the investigation, he contributed to the illegal transportation of men of military age abroad during martial law. The case was part of a wider investigation into conscription evasion schemes.
At the end of the year, NABU and SAP conducted a large-scale special operation directly within the walls of the parliament. The investigators announced the discovery of an organized criminal scheme in which current people’s deputies were involved. The details of this case are gradually being made public, but it is already being called one of the most high-profile cases in recent years.
A separate block of cases concerns suspicions of treason. The Security Service of Ukraine detained Fedor Khristenko, a deputy from the banned OPZZ. He was accused of cooperating with the aggressor state. Another former member of parliament from the same political force, Yevhenii Shevchenko, who has been in pre-trial detention center since 2024, received new suspicions. NABU accuses him of money laundering, as well as a new article for treason under martial law.
In 2025, suspicions were raised not only against current but also former parliamentarians. Viktor Medvedchuk and Vadym Novinsky received new charges. In addition, in Kyiv, the case against the current People’s Deputy Vladyslav Polyak, who is accused of bribery, was resumed.
This year was remembered not only for suspicions, but also for real verdicts. The higher anti-corruption court found People’s Deputy from “Servant of the People” Anatolii Gunko guilty of extorting and receiving a bribe. The court sentenced him to seven years in prison. People’s deputy Andrii Odarchenko was also convicted. The court found him guilty of corruption. He faces eight years in prison with confiscation of property.
As noted in the “Chesno” movement, the number of cases against people’s deputies in 2025 demonstrates a change in the approach of law enforcement agencies. “It is no longer just about loud suspicions, but also about real sentences,” analysts emphasize. Investigations are ongoing, and some cases are still pending in court.
