Svitlana, whose TikTok collects hundreds of thousands of views, maintains an authentic Transcarpathian dialect even after 22 years of emigration. She emphasizes that Ukrainian cuisine is not only her grandmother’s recipes, but also a special mood. For example, she makes real Transcarpathian golubki “like fingers” – small, necessarily made of sauerkraut and on pork lard with the addition of smoked meat for flavor.
Despite a successful business in the Czech city of Pardubice, Svitlana admits that her heart belongs to her native village of Novobarovo in Tyachiv region. A recent trip home for three days finally convinced the woman of her plans for the future. She firmly decided that after the victory she will return to Ukraine and open her “Berehynia” in her native land, because she believes that Transcarpathian nature and people are something that cannot be replaced with any money.
