The State Service for Ethno -Policy and Freedom of Conscience of Ukraine has approved criteria by which religious organizations are recognized as critical for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the life of the population in a special period.
The list of positions of conscripted clergymen, who can be booked at the time of mobilization and martial law, was also defined.
According to the order, the document applies to clergymen who are the heads of religious organizations registered in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Public Formations.
Also, reservations are subject to those who work in religious organizations under the terms of the employment contract in the amount necessary to ensure their activity.
It is noted separately that the reservation of military personnel takes into account the filling of staff positions of military chaplains in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, other military formations and the State Border Service.
This is done in accordance with the quotas of the confessional representation of the chaplains.
In order to recognize a religious organization, it must be critical of a number of criteria.
Among them: the presence of a legal entity identification in the Unified State Register; registration by December 26, 2024; lack of affiliation with foreign religious organizations whose activities are prohibited in Ukraine; location outside the temporarily occupied territories; the current statute; Inclusion in the register of non -profit institutions and submission of reports on the use of income.
The list of posts for booking includes heads of religious centers, departments, communities, monasteries, missions and spiritual educational institutions. This also applies to their deputies and employees authorized to conduct worship, rituals and sermons.
All of these persons should be in employment with relevant religious organizations.

We have already reported that since 2018 from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), 1 502 religious communities have passed to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PCU).
