Artemius was a high-ranking military officer at the imperial court, but despite this he remained devoted to Christian principles.

He was martyred for refusing to sacrifice to pagan gods.

Among the people, this day has its own signs: fog in the morning portends clear weather, strong wind – early frosts, and the red sun in the east – a cold and snowy period in the near future.

It is also not advised to have too much fun and celebrate the wedding in order to avoid problems in the marriage. Prayers on this day ask for health for the military and their safe return home.

We will remind you that in October 2025, the Orthodox will celebrate one of the most revered Christian holidays – the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God, as well as the Dmitri Memorial Saturday.

Also on October 17, 2025, the world celebrates the World Day of Organ Donation and Transplantation, as well as the International Day to Fight Poverty.
