According to the latest data, only 30% of the residents of the temporarily occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions have a permanent job, which is a significant indicator of economic decline.
It is reported Center of national resistance.
The unemployment rate in these territories is three times higher than in 1992. The main reason for this state of affairs is the destruction of more than three thousand enterprises as a result of hostilities, which were either exported to Russia or transferred to its control.
The majority of the population is forced to accept temporary, low-paid jobs or engage in activities supported by the occupation administration.
Central Intelligence Agency officials report that many people work in the utility, military or recovery services, receiving food packages instead of cash payments.
The economy of the region is in a catastrophic state – there are no new investments, and all resources are directed to military needs, which only worsens the social situation.
In addition, the plan of the Russian authorities envisages the mass resettlement of citizens from various regions of the Russian Federation to the occupied territories, which threatens further Russification. The new settlers will have advantages in obtaining housing, benefits and jobs, which indicates the Kremlin’s attempts to change the demographic structure of the region.
Thus, the situation in Donbas is becoming more and more alarming for local residents, which may have serious consequences for their future.
