The deputy head of the Presidential Office Irina Vereshchuk reported that three and a half weeks remained before the expiration for voluntary return with the HCP. She urged not to expect an extension of this term.
She reported this on Monday, February 3, as a result of the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence.
“February began. There are three and a half weeks left for voluntary return from the HCP. I advise you not to count on additional continuation and do not delay with the return, ”Vereshchuk said.
According to her, most cases of HRC do not occur at the front, but in training centers, and only a small part – in combat units.
She also added that during the meeting they discussed changes to the legislation on the HCP.
“Of course, such changes should reflect justice and common sense. But there must be order. Especially when it comes to defense. I share the mood of the committee that the relevant legislation should be quite rigid. So that we do not perceive the HSC as a kind of youthful fun or a way to go on vacation, to be treated or transferred to another unit, ” – writes the deputy head of PP.

At the same time, the Defense Ministry reported on January 28 that the servicemen who had performed unauthorized leave of part (HCP) after November 29, 2024, the full renewal procedure should be underway.
Exemption from criminal liability for HSC
In October 2024, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported that from the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine opened almost 90,000 proceedings on unauthorized leaving of part and desertion.
On November 29, 2024, the Law on Voluntary Returning to Service for those who first left the military unit or deserted it came into force in Ukraine. Such military is released from responsibility, they are renewed and security.
On January 2, Zelensky stated that in the fall of 2024 the number of cases of HCP in Ukraine decreased.
On January 10, more than 7,000 soldiers returned to the DBR.
On January 23, the Secretary of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Roman Kostenko in an interview with Radio NV announced an increase in the number of cases of HSF after the military was allowed to return after the HCP for a service without criminal liability.
