Andriy Sinyuk, the deputy head of the SAPS, said that he had nothing to do with the alleged leak of information in the case of businessman Timur Mindich and did not hand over investigation materials to anyone.
He said this in a comment to UP journalists.
Sinyuk emphasized that:
-
did not hand over materials related to the affairs of Mindich or “Energoatom” to anyone;
-
did not know the details of the proceedings against Mindich – only what was in the media;
-
did not meet with people who, according to him, could be connected to Mindich or the Office of the President;
-
did not receive or give any inquiries regarding this matter.
“No one asked me about Mindich, and I didn’t tell anyone anything… I didn’t know anything about the criminal proceedings,” he emphasized.
Synyuk also learned about today’s searches as part of a high-profile investigation into energy corruption from the Internet.
He categorically denied that he could have “leaked” the information that allegedly gave Mindich the opportunity to go abroad on the eve of the investigation.
