Since the beginning of the armed aggression against Ukraine in 2014, Russia has violated more than 400 international treaties, to which Ukraine and the Russian Federation are parties. and since 2022, the aggressor country has neglected 22 fundamental international documents.

As the Office of the President reports, the head of the OP Andriy Yermak stated this during the international forum “Diplomacy Today: Ukraine’s Role in Global Politics.”

The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, and 700 officials and influential people attended it. Among them are Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiga, Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications Mykola Tochytskyi, Minister of Youth and Sports Matviy Bidny, Deputy Heads of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva and Olena Kovalska, representatives of diplomatic missions, teachers and students. They discussed current problems and challenges for diplomacy.

Yermak emphasized that armed Russian aggression against Ukraine is the most serious violation of international law since the Second World War. It has led to food, energy and environmental crises experienced by various countries of the world.

Currently, one of the goals of Ukrainian diplomacy is the resuscitation of the international law system, Yermak noted.

Thanks to diplomatic efforts from the first hours of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, it was possible to unite all the peoples of Europe and a large part of the world around Ukraine, he explained.

“We achieved the fact that the principle of “nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine” becomes a reality thanks to our active diplomatic presence at all key international platforms: from the UN and G7 to EU and NATO summits. Ukraine participated in the meeting of the League of Arab States, the G20 summit. And these are not only symbolic steps – this is a clear signal that the world is ready to hear Ukraine and act together with us,” the head of the President’s Office emphasized.

In addition, Yermak noted that after the start of full-scale Russian aggression, the Ukrainian team moved away from classical methods of diplomacy, began to work informally, on personal contacts, not only with state leaders and politicians, but also with celebrities.

The Peace Formula proposed by President Volodymyr Zelensky at the G20 summit in Indonesia in 2022 was an important achievement of Ukraine.

“Over these two years, we have become stronger on our irreversible path to NATO. Ukraine has already proven its role as a key guarantor of security in Europe. We not only declare, but also implement Alliance standards in our Armed Forces,” Yermak concluded.

The head of the President’s Office called on partners to strengthen support for Ukraine and promote the implementation of the Victory Plan and the Peace Formula to establish a comprehensive, just and durable peace for Ukraine, Europe and the whole world.

It is worth noting that previously, President-elect Donald Trump’s future national security adviser Mike Waltz said that in recent days he had studied several proposals to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, including the proposal of General Keith Kellogg, whom Trump announced as his nominee for the post of special envoy to these countries

And retired general Keith Kellogg, who was nominated by US President-elect Donald Trump to be a special envoy for the resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian war, said he would “work tirelessly to ensure peace through force.”
