The parties discussed Iceland’s contribution to Ukrainian arms production according to the “Danish model”, Shmyhal noted. Ukraine is counting on a further increase in investments in the security of our state and the whole of Europe.
The Prime Minister invited Icelandic companies to participate in restoration projects as well.
The head of the Ukrainian government called the meeting “constructive” and emphasized: “It is important that the representative of the new Government of Iceland is making her first foreign visit to Ukraine.”
In addition, the Prime Minister thanked for the support of the European and European integration path of our country, because Iceland actively participates in the implementation of initiatives to achieve a just peace and coalitions in support of Ukraine.
“We especially appreciate Iceland’s leadership in the Mine Action Coalition and in launching the International Damage Register. We are grateful to the Icelandic people for the solidarity and assistance provided to Ukraine since the first days of the large-scale armed invasion of Russia,” he added.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiga thanked Iceland for its recent contribution to the production of Ukrainian weapons based on the “Danish model”.
