Due to a sharp deterioration in weather conditions and a drop in temperature, the Government decided on temporary restrictions on education and work. Children in schools and kindergartens can stay at home, and some enterprises and institutions switch to remote mode. All decisions will be made taking into account the real situation in the regions and the recommendations of the TEB and NS commissions. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko.
The government emphasized that the issue of education is now a priority. The Ministry of Education, together with local administrations, should quickly decide whether to switch to distance learning or extend the winter vacation at least until January 19. We are talking about all educational institutions – from kindergartens to universities. “Decisions will be made urgently, taking into account the conclusions of the commissions and the real situation in the regions,” said Prime Minister Yuliya Svyridenko.
The work of institutions and enterprises was not neglected either. Regional administrations received recommendations to evaluate the possibility of transferring employees to remote mode. Importantly, this does not apply to critical infrastructure and organizations where on-site work is necessary, especially in martial law.
Local governments must take these decisions into account within their powers in order to protect people as much as possible from danger and minimize the risks of complications due to severe frosts and snowfalls.
