Colonel Sergey Babich, former chief of the Sambir District Territorial Center of Acquisition and Social Support, was previously the focus of attention because of luxurious property, the value of which is much exceeding his official income.
In the Declaration for 2023, Babich declared assets for more than UAH 6.4 million: six apartments in Lviv and Kiev, two pantries, two parking spaces, a car of Lexus RX 350 in 2021, several land plots and residential buildings. He issued some of the property on his daughter-student.
In September 2023, the NAPC conducted a check and established unreasonable assets of UAH 4.4 million purchased by Babich and his wife during 2020-2022. The official income of the family did not allow such property legally. Because of this, the NAPC recognized the property unfounded and submitted the materials to the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) in order to further appeal to the court to recover that property for state income.
At the time of the inspection, Babich was already fired, but at that time his declaration remained valid. There is currently no public information on the results of the trial or decision of the SAP.
