Irish low -cost Ryanair declared its readiness to restore flights to Ukraine after the end of the war, but requires significant discounts at the Ukrainian airports at the airports. Otherwise, the company threatens to reduce the volume of transportation three times.
About it reports Reuters with reference to the CEO of Ryanair Michael O’lir.
Following the presentation of the company’s annual financial report, O’lir stressed that Ryanair is ready to transport 5 million passengers to and from Ukraine during the first year after the peace agreement, and in the second year – up to 10 million. But in the absence of favorable tariff conditions, this plan can be reduced to 1 million in the first year and 3 million in the second.
“We are disappointed with the reaction of Ukrainian airports that have actually refused to cooperate with us on post -war development,” said the head of the company.
He stressed that airport management should act quickly and to go to agreements if he wants to promote the country. According to O’Lira, trying to earn on empty airports is a strategic mistake that will slow down the development of aviation and tourism.
If an agreement is reached, Ryanair plans to open up to 30 routes from Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Lviv and Odessa-subject to restoration of the runway in the latter.
Lviv International Airport can restore its work in April-May 2025. Currently, five to seven airlines are ready to restore regular flights from Lviv.
Ryanair’s largest airline plans restore Flights to Ukraine. This was made possible against the backdrop of growing hopes that Donald Trump will be able to help end the war with Russia.
