Serhiy Dobryak, the head of the Pokrovsk city military administration, announced the worsening of the situation in the city due to increased shelling by Russian troops. Currently, the city remains without electricity, gas and water supply.
Russian troops are less than three kilometers from Pokrovsk, which poses a critical threat to residents.
“The situation with shelling is worsening, there have been more of them. These are both aerial bombs and artillery strikes. FPV drones are especially annoying. There is no place in the city that is not fired upon by artillery or attacked by drones,” Dobryak said on Radio Svoboda.

Despite the difficult conditions, about 7,200 people still live in the city. There has been no water supply since the summer, and electricity and gas have been completely cut off.
However, there are several pharmacies and a city hospital (in limited mode), one branch “Ukrposhty” and several shops.
Evacuation of the population continues, but its format has changed.
“Now there are no assembly points for evacuation. People are taken directly from their homes. They are delivered to Pavlograd, where registration takes place. During the month, people receive 10,800 hryvnias from international partners. Then they are placed in schools, dormitories or other places of compact living, where they can stay as long as necessary,” the head of the administration said.
People of pre-retirement age, with disabilities and those who cannot rent housing independently are provided with assistance:
- The state provides payments to IDPs.
- Humanitarian organizations provide one-time assistance in the amount of 1,800 hryvnias.
- Families of such people also take an active part in their support.
“The state will not be able to provide everyone with separate housing, but we are doing everything possible to help in the current situation,” Dobryak stressed.
