Within a few days, the Russian occupiers may launch ground assaults in the Zaporizhzhia region.
This was stated by the speaker of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, Sky News reports.
The attacks may create new pressure on the Ukrainian military, which is already in a difficult situation in the east, the publication writes. Although it is still unclear whether this will be one large-scale offensive by the Russians or individual assaults.
“The attacks could start in the near future, we’re not even talking about weeks, we expect it to happen any day now,” the spokesman said.
He added that Russian troops in this area significantly outnumber Ukrainian defenders.

On November 9, Voloshyn stated that the troops of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation are actively preparing for assaults on some sections of the demarcation line in the southern direction.
On October 11, Voloshyn stated that the Russians resumed assault operations in the Dnieper region, in particular, the Ukrainian military repelled 29 Russian attacks in the Kherson region.
