Russian offensive on Pokrovsk – what is known
On October 3, analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that the Russians had captured new areas near Pokrovsk.
On October 4, the intelligence center of the Estonian Defense Forces suggested that by the end of the year, Ukrainian troops may be forced to leave Pokrovsk.
On the same day, Serhiy Dobryak, head of the Pokrovska OVA, said that the Russians were less than 7 km from the city, in which 13,000 residents still remain.
The Washington Post, citing the Ukrainian military fighting in the Donetsk region, wrote that the illegally obtained Starlink terminals helped Russia capture Vugledar and advance on Pokrovsk.
According to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), published on December 7, the armed forces of the Russian Federation will continue to donate equipment and manpower to achieve tactical territorial advantages in the Pokrovsk region.
