Russian Forces Target Energy Infrastructure in Sumy Region

On March 9, Russian forces launched strikes on energy facilities in the Sumy region of Ukraine, aiming to disrupt power supply to local residents.

A government official reported that throughout the day, the enemy has been attempting to cut off electricity to various communities in Sumy Oblast.

Areas in the Sumy and Okhtyrka districts are experiencing potential power outages, leaving some residents without electricity.

Energy crews are currently working to restore power as quickly as possible.

Additionally, the head of the regional military administration emphasized the importance of readiness at community resilience points. He stated, “In the event of prolonged power outages, people must have access to these facilities.”

In related news, on February 27, Russian forces targeted a hotel in central Sumy around 4 AM. During a rescue operation, they employed a “double strike” tactic, launching a second attack on firefighters who were extinguishing the blaze.

Russian strikes on March 9 have targeted energy infrastructure in the Sumy region, leading to power outages for residents. Efforts are underway to restore electricity, while community resilience points are prepared for potential prolonged outages.
