Russia should accept the conditions of temporary ceasefire in Ukraine, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga on March 17 during a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the European Union.
Sibiga stressed that negotiations between Ukraine and the US were constructive, candid and detailed.
The Ukrainian Minister, quoted by Interfax-Ukraine, also added that a meeting in Jedda demonstrated Ukraine’s desire for peace and the need for coercion of Russia to end aggression.
“We have a chance to complete this war in a fair way. This is what we talked about for eight hours with our American colleagues in Saudi Arabia, ”the minister said.
The minister also noted that Russia should now be made.
“Now the ball is completely on the field of Russia. The Russians must answer the clear and unconditional “yes”. Ukraine has accepted the US proposal without additional conditions, and Russia must accept it without additional conditions. Ukraine has already formed a negotiation group for a further process, demonstrating its serious intentions, ”the minister emphasized.
The Foreign Minister added that Ukraine has already started the formation of a technical group that will work to monitor the ceasefire.
On March 17, the EU Supreme Representative, Kai Callas, said the aggressor Russia had nominated the conditions that he wants to reach war in Ukraine.
US initiative to cease fire in Ukraine
The 30-day ceasefire initiative was offered by US representatives during negotiations with Ukraine in Jedda in Saudi Arabia on March 11. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine is ready for a temporary truce if the Russian Federation agrees.
On March 13, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin stated that Russia agrees to the proposal to terminate the fighting, but this, according to him, should lead to “long -term peace” and “eliminate the cause of the crisis”.
Donald Trump, commenting on a dictator’s statement, called Putin’s response “promising ”, but “incomplete. “
In his turn, Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that such an answer is manipulative and testifies to the preparation of Putin’s refusal to stop fire.
On the same day, Putin’s meeting with Trump’s Special Representative in the Middle East, Steve Witcoff, took place.
