The International Damage Register has opened a new category for registration of applications – “Loss of access and control over real estate in temporarily occupied territories”. It is a property lost after February 24, 2022.

“Due to criminal aggression Russian Federation Millions of Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes. Some of them still remain in the occupied territories. The terrorist state must pay for the suffering of every Ukrainian and every Ukrainian. Therefore, a new category appeared in the International Register of losses – A3.6 “Loss of Access and Control of Real Estate in Temporarily Occupied Territories”, – the message reads.
This category applies to owners or real estate owners, the access and control of which was lost after February 24, 2022 due to the temporary occupation of the territories of Ukraine.
The application can be submitted for housing and non -residential real estate through the portal. The statement must be added to the real estate information, indicate the ownership information, data on the circumstances of access of access or control over real estate and add evidence of these circumstances. The desired amount of compensation should be indicated separately.
After processing the application, it will be entered in the Register. After the compensation mechanism is developed, the application and evidence will be submitted to the future commission for consideration for consideration on the merits and making a decision on payment of compensation.
Earlier, the International Register of Losses created to fix the losses caused by aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine has opened a new category – now owners and co -owners of non -residential real estate can apply for compensation for damage or destruction of such property.
Ukraine is working to open all 45 categories of the International Register of losses by the end of 2025.
