People’s Deputy Serhii Rakhmanin, a member of the defense committee of the Verkhovna Rada, expressed concern about the effectiveness of recruiting in the Ukrainian army. In an interview with Ukrainska Pravda, he noted that the number of recruits is much lower than necessary, which is disappointing.
Rachmanin emphasized that recruiting cannot significantly solve the problems of the armed forces in a country waging a large-scale war. In his opinion, recruiting is only an additional tool and is not able to fully solve the problem of providing the army.
At the same time, he noted that some brigades manage to effectively attract new recruits and provide quality training. These brigades have fewer staffing problems compared to those that rely mainly on formal recruitment centers that are understaffed.
Rachmanin believes that the state should study and scale the successful experience of active recruiting to the whole country, but currently this is not happening, and he does not know why.
