From January 1, 2026, the TV channel “Rada” will not be present on the air of the national telethon “Yedini Novyni”. The channel actually disappeared from the broadcasting network at the end of December. On December 29 and 30, “Rada” did not air at all, and on December 31, it was limited to only a final news release without a full block of programs.
Before that, the parliamentary TV channel had clearly defined broadcasting hours in the marathon: on Monday from 6:00 to 12:00, on Tuesday from 12:00 to 18:00 and on Wednesday from 18:00 to midnight. Currently, these time slots remain empty or are filled with other content. The channel does not make public statements about leaving the telethon, as the management hopes to return to broadcasting in the coming weeks. At the same time, the interlocutors of the publication admit that the situation is directly related to financing and organizational issues.
Bureaucratic procedures related to the allocation of budget funds for the production of content for the parliamentary TV channel are cited as the probable reason for the suspension of broadcasting. As of the beginning of 2026, there is no information on the Prozorro platform about the holding of art competitions or tenders for the purchase of programs for the “Council”. This means that, legally, the channel currently simply does not have a customer and performer to create an on-air product.
Separately, sources report that the Kinokit company, which had been producing content for the Rada TV channel since the end of 2021, has actually stopped working. Since 2022, this company has been a permanent winner of art competitions and produced programs for the telethon “Edyni Novyni” specifically for the parliamentary channel.
On December 24, according to the information of “Media Detector”, the management of “Kinokit” informed the employees about the stoppage of production and exit from content production for “Rada”. Even earlier, on December 5, sources of the publication talked about preparations for layoffs in the team working on the marathon. At that time, both Kinokit and Rada TV channel publicly denied this information.
The history of the company “Kinokit” is closely connected with the name of Timur Mindich. He is a beneficiary of the British company Meylor Global LLP, which, according to LinkedIn, is engaged in the international distribution of synthetic diamonds. Yulia Drozdova, the official owner of Kinokit, is connected with this company. According to journalists, Drozdova was previously a legal adviser to Meylor Global. In her comments for Bihus.info, she initially denied this connection, but later confirmed it, at the same time assuring that Timur Mindich allegedly does not influence the activities of the company registered to her.
It was after the election of Volodymyr Zelenskyi as president that Kinokit began actively receiving government contracts, and during the full-scale war, the company earned hundreds of millions of hryvnias on the production of programs for the Rada TV channel within the telethon.
Against this background, the suspension of broadcasting of the parliamentary channel looks not just a technical pause, but a consequence of deeper problems with financing, transparency of procedures and dependence on one production company.
