Quarantine restrictions were introduced in 24 villages in the Chernihiv region due to a detected case of rabies in a fox.

This was reported by the press service of the Chernihiv District State Administration.

It was clarified there that rabies disease in a fox was detected in the village of Dovzhik of the Novobilou community.

In order to eliminate the outbreak of the disease, the State Emergency Anti-epizootic Commission under the Chernihiv RDA decided to declare the indicated village as an unfavorable point for animal rabies and to define a threatening zone within a radius of 10 km.

Earlier we wrote that in October of this year in another Ukrainian region – in the Poltava region – quarantine was also introduced, but there it was connected with the African swine fever.

And the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin in November predicted an increase in the incidence of influenza. He warned that such an increase would begin in December and continue until the beginning of March next year.
