The coalition of Ukrainian NGOs, led by the Laboratory of Legislative Initiatives, presented a shadow report on Ukraine’s compliance with the requirements of Chapters 23 and 24 of the EU accession negotiations.
The document was prepared in agreement with the European Commission and with the support of the EU project “Pravo-Justice”.
The report includes an assessment of progress under the chapters “Justice and fundamental rights” and “Justice, freedom and security”, which are part of the first cluster “Foundations” – a key part of the process of accession negotiations.
Analysts noted both achievements and challenges in the areas of rule of law, fight against corruption and organized crime, protection of human rights, visa policy and migration.
As a reminder, in the coming weeks, Ukraine will receive a reparation loan from the EU.
The EU will also revise the membership rules to speed up Ukraine’s accession.
