— What impression did Trump’s words make on you that he understands Russia and its fears of Ukraine joining NATO? How to interpret these statements?

And in general, Biden is to blame for everything. It looked more in this direction than banning Ukraine from joining [до НАТО].

I think if the conflict between Trump and [російського диктатора Володимира] Putin will go beyond the second or third round of negotiations, Trump himself will campaign for Ukraine’s accession to NATO.

That’s why we see now that he gave passes to some of his potential sympathizers like Putin. But to say that this is an unequivocal statement that has no backward movement is not. It often happens to Trump anyway. For example, the story about Mark Zuckerberg. Mark was the biggest evil, but when a friend of Trump was taken to the supervisory board, he immediately turned into a normal person and recorded a video that there will be no moderation of posts, immediately turned into a guy with whom everything can be good. Same here.

I think the more important phrase for us is that Putin does not want a meeting, we need half a year to settle the situation, maybe a little less. This overlaps with the insider about trying to settle everything by April 20. This is precisely the four to six months that can meet Trump’s expectations, not 24 hours.

And the fact that he understands Putin or not, I think, is also a story with several development scenarios. Ukraine will also set its tone, so whether he understands it or not is not super important for us.
