In Israel, the Tel Aviv Court rejected PrivatBank’s appeal as to whether the country and its judicial system were approached to consider a claim against the former bank owner Igor Kolomoisky. He is accused of appropriation of the bank’s funds and their withdrawal to other countries, including Israel.
The decision to reject the appeal was made by Judge Ariel Zimmerman, the text of the court’s decision, writes a telegraph.
It is noted that the court concluded that this is a typical case in which Israel is not an appropriate forum for consideration of the claim.
Most relationships, the nature of the claim, its essence and procedural aspects, according to the court, indicate that the case should be considered in Ukraine.
In addition, public considerations and expectations of the parties also do not support the case in Israel.
Earlier, the high court of London found that due to the inaction of the former PrivatBank owner Gennady Bogolyubov, access to $ 1 billion in arrested funds that British justice could be returned to the Ukrainian state was lost. He simply did not pay the registration fee for his offshore companies, and now the court cannot collect their assets.
