The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision on the distribution of net profit of the largest state -owned banks – PrivatBank and Savings Bank – in 2024.
According to government orders, PrivatBank will transfer UAH 32.11 billion to the state budget, which is 80% of its net profit for the past year. Savings Bank will bring UAH 3.95 billion to the budget, ie 50% of its net profit.
In addition to the major part of the profit, both banks should direct 5% of net profit to the reserve fund. For PrivatBank it is UAH 2 billion, for Savings Bank – UAH 394.66 million.
The rest of the funds will cover the accumulated losses of the past years: PrivatBank will send it 15% of profit (UAH 6.02 billion), and Oschadbank – 45% (UAH 3.55 billion).
According to preliminary financial reports, PrivatBank increased net profit in 2024 to UAH 40.14 billion, which is 6.3% more than last year. This allowed the bank to maintain the status of the most profitable in Ukraine.
Savings Bank also demonstrated significant growth – its net profit for 2024 amounted to UAH 7.9 billion, which is almost three times higher than the previous year. Thus, Savings Bank took second place among state -owned banks in terms of profitability.
In total, in 2024, the state banks of Ukraine earned UAH 67.19 billion in net profit. This is 23% more than in 2023, and their share is about 65% of the total profit of the entire banking system of the country.
We will remind, Oschadbank received official confirmation of the arrest of Russia’s assets in France worth about 87 million euros.
