President Zelensky signed a vocational education law: what will change for business

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a new law “On Vocational Education” (Bill No. 13107-D), which will replace the current law in 1998 on vocational education. The document guarantees that every person can receive professional education for free throughout the state or local budget, regardless of available education. Budgets should fund at least 25% of school graduates up to 2030”, – WRITE ON: ua.news

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a new law “On Vocational Education” (Bill No. 13107-D), which will replace the current law in 1998 on vocational education.

The document guarantees that every person can receive professional education for free throughout the state or local budget, regardless of available education. Budgets should fund at least 25% of school graduates by 2030 (with a gradual increase of 13% in 2026).

For business, the law provides for:

  • more active forms of cooperation with vocational education institutions and involvement of employers;

  • creation of new mechanisms for combining training and practice in production;

  • participation in the supervisory boards of VET institutions, where most members are employers and business partners;

  • simplifying the transfer of VET institutions from state to communal property;

  • recognition of competences and qualifications obtained in the learning process.

The law also introduces a new system of financing for vocational education institutions, strengthens their autonomy and opens up opportunities for study throughout life, including three -year profile secondary education since 2027.

Earlier to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine came bill on administrative responsibility for violation of martial law, including curfew.

In the Verkhovna Rada registered The bill “13634-1”, which specifies the right to defer from conscription for students and pedagogical staff.
